Important Transportation Update For Our Wedding Day
We have updated our transportation plan due to there being a one-lane bridge into the neighborhood and the need to limit the number of cars coming over the bridge!
Please have all rideshare and other drivers drop off at Anderson Elementary School, 455 Halyburton Memorial Pkwy, Wilmington, NC. Parking will be available at Anderson.
Shuttles will be waiting to drive friends and family the short distance to River Island.
Shuttle service will begin at 4:45 and will remain available throughout the evening.
Post-ceremony, shuttles will take guests back to Anderson Elementary to meet their Uber or other scheduled driver. No pick ups at River Island please.
Thanks so much for your help!!
The countdown is on and we are so excited to see all of you!!
when should I rsvp?
We kindly ask that you RSVP on our wedding website no later than April 10th
where is the venue located?
River Island is approximately 30 minutes from Wrightsville Beach and 20 minutes from Downtown Wilmington so please plan a little travel time into the afternoon.
What time should I arrive at the wedding?
We invite guests to plan to gather at 5:00 to enjoy a refreshing meet and greet poolside prior to the start of the ceremony. Guest seating will take place at 5:20.
What should I wear for the wedding day?
We’re so excited to get dressed up with you! We encourage guests to dress “spring formal” in full length maxi dresses, tailored suits, and elevated accessories that feel timeless and celebration-worthy. As our special day’s festivities will take place outdoors, we recommend footwear suitable for grass and natural terrain, such as block heels, wedges, or flats, to ensure ease of movement throughout the afternoon and evening.
Will there be parking for the night before festivities?
There will be plenty of parking the night before at The Surf Club but if you plan to enjoy celebration cocktails, Uber and Lyft are always available to bring you to the beach and return you safely back home.
What should I wear for the night before?
With “cocktail chic” in mind we’re thinking khakis and a sport coat for the guys and fun cocktail attire for the girls. Similar to the wedding day though a bit more casual. Side note: The Surf Club requests that tattoos be fully covered.
Can I bring a plus one?
Though we’re big believers in “the more, the merrier”, we kindly ask that only the guests named on the invitation attend due to the limited capacity of our venue.
